I’ve been into the arts for as long as I can remember. I started off with acting, went to writing, and while going to junior high and high school, like almost everyone in Brooklyn at the time, I wanted to be a rapper.
When they didn’t pan out, I figured a change of scenery was necessary, and joined the US Marine Corps. This is where I started getting into photography. I was the one running around capturing events when I wasn’t standing in formation.
Fast forward to 2012 when I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan for my twilight tour. Along with a few other Marines, we would take off almost every weekend with our cameras, scouting the island for the best scenic views and food. Sometime around then, I took a quick photography class to actually know what to do with my camera instead of press a button and BOOM, the light was on and I was hooked.
Now I can photograph almost every genre, with a lot of time lapse and astrophotography, but have grown to love headshot and portrait photography. I’m no master of the game, but trying to be a better master of myself in the game. The best part is the product produced and the impact of the images.
There’s no doubt I’ll always be working on the creative side of life. If I don’t have a camera in hand, I’m trying to figure out when’s the next time I’ll have a camera in hand and who will be in front of the lens.
“It’s time you make it your turn.”
